Quick & easy meal

Tuesday 30 September 2008 @ 5:00 pm

My relatives from Kuantan came yesterday. I went to have breakfast with them after fetch Marcus to school. My mother in law wasn’t at home when we back, so I have to prepare lunch for Marcus. It’s too late to cook porridge or rice, so I decided to prepare a quick and easy and healthy meal for him.

Organic alphabets pasta, carrot, spinach and organic tomatoes & mushrooms sauce

I like to eat pasta than rice

He likes to stick to me like glue even I’m in toilet too, so it’s not surprise that he followed me to the kitchen. I’m worried with the hot boiling water as I’m cooking the pasta. I don’t hope anything bad happen to us even though I have some acne pills at home. *touch wood*

Maid problem again

Tuesday 30 September 2008 @ 4:32 pm

My maid went to my brother in law’s house to help and take care of new born baby for a month. I feel great when my maid is not around me even though I have to do all the house chores. We all agree not to hire any Indo maids again after her.

She really gives lot of problem to us. Most of my kitchen and bathroom accessories have spoilt because of her. I have to change all the accessories. I will make sure to shop for the best quality of the accessories from Hansgrohe faucets.

Holiday week = busy week

Monday 29 September 2008 @ 5:34 pm

It’s school holiday this week, but not for Marcus. He still has to go to school except Wednesday and Thursday. My relatives from Kuantan come to Ipoh for holiday, so I have to entertain them. Marcus can’t wait to see and play with my mother’s cousin sister daughters. They are 6 and 7 years old, but no age gap with him when they play together.

I’m thinking where to bring them for fun this few days. My relative likes the food in Ipoh much, so I will eat out more often this week. Besides that, I will snap many photos for the kids, so I better upgrade and get ready my new micro sd memory card.

Wordless Sunday

Sunday 28 September 2008 @ 6:17 pm

Marcus become very talkative since he went to school. While we’re lying on my parents’ bed just now, hubby asked him some questions.

Hubby : Do you love daddy ?
Marcus : Yes.

Hubby : Do you love mummy ?
Marcus : Yes.

Hubby : You love daddy more or mummy more ?
Marcus : (think for a while) Marcus more.

*Speechless* Hubby and I never thought that he gave this answer to us.

Unknown phone calls

Sunday 28 September 2008 @ 6:00 pm

Hubby told me that he always gets unknown phone number calls. He didn’t want to receive the calls as he knows most of them are from banks who want to sell loans, insurances or credit cards. It’s so frustrated if he received the calls as they are very persistent and refuse to hang up the phone. It will disturb and miss out some incoming calls.

I just found that reverse phone directory from CallerBase which can be used to trace unknown phone numbers in our phone bill. But it’s only applicable in United States and Canada.

Anyway, I told hubby not to receive those unknown calls to avoid problems especially when he is driving car.

Bento Fun #2

Thursday 25 September 2008 @ 5:01 pm

I got my bento stuffs this morning and I really can’t wait to do a bento for my kid as after school snack. I will go for my 2nd batch of order soon as I don’t feel enough for me to make more bentos. I checked on the fridge and looked for the food. These are the food I got for my kid today.

I brought it together when I go fetch my kid. He was so happy to see the bento I made. I told him to eat later as we’re going to po po’s house.

Half green apple cut into small pieces, chocolate spring rolls with hazelnuts, organic seedless raisins and a cherry ripe chocolate from Australia.

He finished the food except the cherry ripe chocolate. Gosh, almost forgot better don’t let him eat any chocolates now. :-P I try not to make too much so that he will eat his lunch later.

He likes the bento stuffs I bought and played with them after eat.  I better keep them up as I worry if he accidentally eat the animals pick.

NO maid for a month

Wednesday 24 September 2008 @ 4:58 pm

My maid went to help at my brother in law’s house as his wife gave birth to a baby last week. So, from now on I’m going to do house chores like sweeping, mopping, washing, ironing and etc. And luckily my mother in law helps me up. LOL!!!

Besides that, I need to accompany my kid to write, ok, I don’t know what he writes, but just let him do whatever he likes. And colouring, playing, reading…..etc

I’m drawing a circle……

looks so busy….like a manager :-P

Mummy, comes and read to me….

These are the things I have to do every day and night this month. I hope my maid will back soon, so I can just concentrate take care of my kid. Well, if you were me, I think you don’t have to take any diet pills and will look slim like me later.

Online shop for bento tools

Wednesday 24 September 2008 @ 4:40 pm

I shopped for some bento tools online yesterday. It was my first time to shop online and I wonder if the stuffs I ordered can deliver to my house safely. I heard some people can’t get their stuffs after paid. Are you the one too ?

Of course I don’t need any moving services for my bento stuffs. But if I move to another state, then I need the moving company.

Anyway, I paid through paypal and received a confirmation email from the online store. I hope I can receive my stuffs this week.

Marcus’s cousin brother

Monday 22 September 2008 @ 5:33 pm

Congratulations to my brother in law. His wife gave birth to a healthy 2.48kg baby boy last Saturday. We brought Marcus to visit the baby yesterday. He refused to go into the ward room, but after a while, he run and played with her cousin sister, the baby’s sister in the room. Afterall, he needs time to warm up. LOL!!!

There was a man, I think his wife also just gave birth, sitting on a chair watching the tv non stop. He even pushed the tv facing towards his wife’s bed, just like he is the only one who watch it. We guessed that he must have home theater seating and watch tv all day long.

Bento Fun #1

Friday 19 September 2008 @ 6:02 pm

After the simple bento I did months ago, I decided to do another for my kid. Too bad that I don’t have more bento tools, well, will get them online soon to make it looks more attractive.

Starfruits with raisins, grapes and teddy bear mooncake

Since he won’t take his lunch right after school, so I let him to have some fruits first. I prepared it after I fetch my kid back from school today. So simple and it took me not more than 3 minutes to complete. LOL!!!

My little boy was excited to see the fruits I decorated in the lunch box. See, he enjoys it much even though it looks simple right now. :-P   I really can’t wait to get some bento tools now to prepare food for him. Since he’s not fancy with rice, I hope with bento decoration, he will love to eat anything I give him.

Birthday falls on CNY

Friday 19 September 2008 @ 5:50 pm

My kid born 2 days before Chinese New Year, so I had my confinement during CNY in Year 2006. Hubby told me that Marcus’s 3rd birthday will fall on the first day of CNY, that is 27 Jan next year.  I wonder if I should throw him a birthday party again. I think not much guests will attend since it’s the first day of CNY, most people will stay at home for gathering.

May be I will just invite my family members and close relatives to have a lunch or dinner at restaurant. But I’m sure everywhere will crowd with people. I’m still not make up my mind. Or may be having a birthday party at home? It will be troblesome even though I have a maid to help out. Any good suggestions ?

What present to buy for my kid? Toy cars ? Anyway, I have to buy a present for my niece as she will celebrate her first birthday soon. I will get her some nice baby clothes since all shopping malls are having sales now.

More about him…..

Thursday 18 September 2008 @ 6:37 pm

Sometimes my kid really gives me nut but sometimes he can really be a good boy too. While we’re in Parkson on Tuesday night, I let him to go for electric elephant ride. He didn’t scare at all and wanted to ride himself without anyone to hold him. Actually this ride is suitable for kids above 3 years old.

Riding the “elephant” with his gong gong…..

There was a boy who at about same age with Marcus, crying and throwing a tantrum to have another ride again. I’m worried if he also will act like the boy later. So I told him just can ride for one time, and he came down without making any noise.

Can see but can’t get them……

My boy pulled us to ToyCity, he found all his favourite toy cars. He stand there staring at those toy cars. He got asked for the cars, but my mother and I insist not to buy. I told him we go to see other nice stuffs upstairs. He followed me and didn’t cry or get angry at all. I told myself try not to buy toys in front of him or else he will ask for it next time.

Such a good boy !

Having a hair cut for him really make me worry before as he will cry whenever we bring him go barber shop. But now he is totally my big boy, he likes to go for hair cut and sitting there quietly to let the aunty (my parents’ neighbour) to shave his hair.

Happy Mid Autumn

Monday 15 September 2008 @ 9:02 pm

It’s Mid Autumn festival yesterday. We went to my parents’ house for the celebration. After dinner, I lighted up all the lanterns and candles with the help of hubby, my sister and brother. Guess what, my parents in law also came and joined us.

my lovely niece…..can see but can’t play :-P

Actually I have bought some cartoon lanterns for Marcus at Jusco days before, but my mother and brother bought candles and lanterns again for him.

So excited seeing daddy light up the candles….

So nice and warm…..

different types of lanterns

It’s about 10pm, we cleaned all the mess before go home. We have a delightful night. We reached home almost 11pm and Marcus still having slight fever, flu and cold. So, we decided not to let him go to school the next day.

Nowadays there are many people down with flu and cold especially kids.  We should take good care of ourselves and family. I’m still think that health or life insurance is important to protect us and our family. I will get another new health insurance quote as to compare with my kid’s current health policy.

Down with cold

Friday 12 September 2008 @ 4:18 pm

My kid is down with slight cold this morning. Too much virus bug at school and he is the one who easily get attack. Let him have cough syrup before he goes to nap just now. Hopefully he will get well soon as hubby and I will bring him to attend wedding dinners with us this weekend.

I checked through infomation about Chronic Cough from Epocrates. It is defined as cough persisting for more than 8 weeks. I’m so heart break to see him coughing. He can’t sleep well last night, and of course I couldn’t sleep well too.

There are free online clinical solution from Epocrates, do check it out if you want to know more about medication.

“This announcement was paid for by Epocrates.”

Birthday celebration

Thursday 11 September 2008 @ 4:33 pm

We went to our favourite restaurant for dinner to celebrate his birthday. It was a simple but warm celebration for us. We suppose to attend music class but I decided to skip it. LOL!!!

I didn’t book for a table as I think it won’t be full for weekdays. But I was worried when I see many cars parking at the compound. Guess what, there are still many tables available.

We can’t wait to snap a family photo before start our dinner…hehe

First time snap photos at this restaurant

Kissing daddy

After dinner, we went home for cake cutting. Hubby didn’t know that I have bought a birthday cake for him. He was surprised and excited like a kid. He must think that no more surprise after the dinner.

He just concentrate on the birthday cake only…:-)

Singing “Happy Birthday” song….

Blowing candles together

Daddy, I help you…

My kid was very happy when I take out the birthday cake from fridge. He sang Happy Birthday, blew candles and even helped to cut cake. I asked him who’s birthday today, he replied me “Marcus’s birthday”.  :-P Even though the celebration is simple, but I have spent a lot…..sigh!
